Kent Anderson
Columbia, MOKent D. Anderson got his start in the floral industry some 37 years ago, all of which was a result of his father’s death. Kent and his family were so overwhelmed with the joy and comfort they felt as they received condolences and beautiful floral bouquets during their time of sorrow and grief. From that point on, Kent wanted to do that same thing for others. Kent owned his first floral shop when he was just a junior in high school; it was called Anderson Candleflower in Huntsville, MO. Later Kent moved to Columbia, MO, where he took employment at Lari's Flowers. Later he moved on to work at Park Manor Flowers. A couple years down the road he, his brother, and a couple of business partners opened Crossroads Flowers, where Kent spent many of his years servicing the community with his floral talents.
After owning Crossroads Flowers, Kent went on to become sole owner of Kent's Floral Gallery and Gifts, also in Columbia, MO. Kent has always strived for perfection. Building on his business and making it what it is today – a shop that is known for its distinction, innovation, and attention to detail and service. Kent has always been a very giving person, hence the very reason he got into this business. Always giving back to the community that has supported him so much all these years. If you would look at Kent’s portfolio you would see why he is standing before you today, he has taught adult education in basic floral design. Kent has been featured designer at many wholesale and distributorship shows, including Baisch and Skinner. Kent has also produced in-house seminars and lectures in his shop to many of the local auxiliaries, women’s groups and organizations such as Kings Daughters.
